School Policies

Closing and Delay Policies

We follow the SWAC school closings only for snow and ice closings and delays. We do not delay school for fog. Listen to the local news/radio, call 625-COOL or call the school and listen to the message for information.

Snow/Ice Delays = AM classes start at 10:00 am and end at 12:30 pm. PM classes start at 1:00 pm and end at 3:30 pm. Full day classes start at 10:00 am and dismiss as normal. (Lunch will be held from 12:30-1:00 pm with no enrichment classes.)

Health Policies

Sick child procedure is as follows: any child, whom the teacher observes as having symptoms, will be isolated until a parent can come get him/her. These symptoms include, but are not limited to:

Sore throat
Inflammation of the eyes
Fever
Lice
Ringworm
Rash
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Excessive coughing

Please keep your children at home if they are not feeling well. If your child has a lot of green/yellow mucus that is not contained, and your child has a hard time with nose blowing and hand washing, for sanitary reasons, please keep them home so others are not infected. It is better to be safe than sorry when trying to decide to send a child to school or to keep them home. The rest of the parents and teachers thank you for keeping your sick child at home so they can recuperate.

Please call the school if you child is not attending. Your child needs to be fever-free (temp. of 98.6 degrees) for at least 24 hours before returning to school.
